Digital art is essentially “painting” with light. Whether the resulting images are still or in motion, the basic unit of digital art is a radiant pixel transmitting colored light. Most of the pieces on display here attempt to use that light to awaken “inner vision”. By this we mean that the images serve to draw attention to the non physical dimension of experience— the numinous feelings, the intimations and intuitions of the deeper reality in which we ‘live and move and have our being’. Light plays the central role in this: the light coming from the screen; the light through which I conceived and made the images; and the light of your consciousness into which this potential arrives, and within which it awakens. Light upon light.
